A Travel Nurse Job
Becoming a travel nurse when I was a bit younger was a great career choice for me. Being a travel nurse allowed me to move to some really cool places, and I got to live in each place for a short period of time while I worked for a few months.
Many hospitals are short on nurses, which is why they hire traveling nurses. I signed up with a travel nurse agency, and the agency found all of the available positions for me, and then they got me some interviews. I really had a great opportunity to pick what I wanted, so I didn’t have to take jobs that didn’t interest me.
I also liked being a travel nurse because I was exposed to different cultures across the United States. You would think that because we are all American, we would all be the same, but there are many different accents and jargon that differentiate the East coast from the West Coast. I gained great experience by working at different hospitals, and I also created a large network of associates who could give me recommendations for other jobs. Being a travel nurse was the smartest thing I could have done right out of nursing school.
